Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Benefits Administrator to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our Talent Services Department, you will play a critical role in administering our leave of absence and disability plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the administration of our leave of absence and disability programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to staff, responding to questions and issues related to leave and disability benefits.
  • Work closely with disability vendors to ensure compliance and customer service excellence.
  • Develop and maintain educational materials to enhance staff knowledge of leave and disability rules and processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of leave approvals and denials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of specialized leave of absence and disability plan management experience.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to tackle complex problems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Multi-state leave experience.
  • Workday human resources information system experience.
  • Benefits certification, such as CEBS or Certified Benefits Professional.
