Are you passionate about maintaining a pristine environment for guests? At Hostelling International USA, we are looking for a dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee our housekeeping operations. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign and monitor tasks for the housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure cleanliness and adherence to standards.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager with administrative duties and provide coverage as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance teams to address any facility issues.
  • Perform cleaning duties in common areas, guest rooms, and other assigned spaces, ensuring all surfaces are maintained.
  • Manage laundry operations, including processing linens.
  • Ensure proper inventory management of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on cleaning protocols and safety standards.
  • Maintain guest privacy and security at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in a hostel or hotel environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close and peripheral vision.
