Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. As a leading crop insurance provider in the U.S., RCIS offers insurance protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 3,600 licensed agents.
The ideal candidate will work out of a home-based office, covering a territory in South Dakota. This position requires approximately 50% travel to service the assigned area. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities- Conducting field inspections and related tasks, including reading maps and aerial photos, measuring field and storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers.
- Performing fact-finding regarding crop damage, recording information, and transmitting loss information to accurately determine potential damages.
- Providing excellent service to our customers – both agents and policyholders (farmers).
- Utilizing company software to electronically transmit claims information directly from the field to RCIS, ensuring timely and accurate claims processing.
- Following regulatory and company rules, policies, and procedures.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
- Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
- Reliable personal transportation and travel within the territory.
- Valid Driver's License.
- RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.
- Experience with Row crops, such as corn, soybeans, wheat, and/or forage.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
