The Mechanical HVAC Engineer will be responsible for overseeing a diverse range of essential mechanical engineering design tasks related to the planning, configuration, and execution of HVAC system projects. This role will report directly to the Director of Engineering and Design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish Engineering Standards to enhance quality, fabrication, and production processes.
  • Supervise the design of comprehensive HVAC systems in collaboration with the project sales team, including load calculations, energy assessments, riser diagrams, equipment selection, vent schedules, and specifications.
  • Conduct research, development, and training on new products and systems.
  • Lead, train, and mentor project engineers.
  • Assist estimating and business development teams with project-specific schematics, concepts, and alternatives.
  • Perform site reviews as necessary to gain insights into facilities.
  • Deliver customer presentations as required.
  • Coordinate construction documents (drawings, submittals, details) for awarded projects.
  • Provide necessary engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Current P.E. License in the State of Illinois.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the Mechanical Contractor industry.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing sectors.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Experience in Energy Modeling.
  • LEED AP certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with control systems and collaboration with the controls development team.
