We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bonding Clerk to provide efficient administrative and clerical support to our assigned group. The successful candidate will participate in planning programs, policies, or objectives for their work group and department.
Responsibilities- Provide information and public relations between the Sheriff's Office and the community.
- Serve as an intermediary between bonding companies, the public, and inmate families.
- Independently assist customers in a professional manner and provide information and process requests in person, on the telephone, electronic submissions, and through the mail.
- Maintain and provide confidentiality and security of documents, files, and data.
- Examine, verify, and input data into the Sheriff's Office computer system to update information regarding pending and disposed criminal cases, using detailed data entry codes.
- Prepare magistrate documents for County and District Court Judges.
- Log, record, and file bonds, court documents, financial transactions.
- Verify, prepare, process, log, and file bonds. Distribute processed bonds to appropriate offices.
- Calculate, collect, receipt, and process cash fines, bonds, and statutory fees.
- Accurately process, maintain, and record court documents/dispositions, received from Federal, District, County, Attorney General, Municipal, and Justice of the Peace courts as mandated by the law under strict timelines.
- Verify, process, and distribute documents to appropriate locations.
- Gather information from booking, courthouse, electronic submissions, and other agencies to prepare and process the proper and timely release or transfer of incarcerated persons.
- Notarize documents for department and outside agencies, as needed.
- Participate in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
- High School Diploma/GED;
- One-year job-related experience;
- Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook), and typing skills (Minimum 35 WPM);
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials;
- Flexible schedule including overtime, shift work, weekends, and/or holidays is required;
- Must become a Notary Public of Texas.
$15.00 per hour
