Job Summary

Advanced Technology Services is seeking a skilled Test Technician to join our team. As a Test Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and participate in the installation and testing of industrial equipment, including connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power sources, and indicating instruments.
  • Participate in installations and hardware changes, ensuring that all equipment is properly configured and functioning as intended.
  • Set up test equipment to the proper operating conditions, collect data, and tear down equipment, ensuring that all testing is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication problems related to specifications and review test plans, including types and cycles of tests, conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of tests.
  • Examine parts for conformance using precision measuring instruments and recommend replacement of defective parts as needed.
  • Activate controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test items to successive steps in the test cycle.
  • Monitor controls and instruments and record test data for engineers, ensuring that all data is accurate and complete.
  • Utilize a basic understanding of controls and instrumentation to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Provide basic data analysis to ensure quality and uncover trends, working under general supervision.
  • Collaborate with engineers regarding data analysis and conclusions, providing recommendations for process improvements.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including processes, results, and cost savings.
  • Receive regular mentoring from higher-level technicians and provide basic mentoring to lower-level technicians.
  • Complete technical self-study programs for career development, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Follow all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines, maintaining situational awareness and identifying unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Comply with 5S and housekeeping standards, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and/or basic knowledge of internal combustion engines, diesel/gas engines, test cell operations, or data collection systems.
  • Ability to operate PC or PDP11 controlled equipment.
  • Proven ability to work successfully with computers, including Microsoft Suite experience.
  • Ability to successfully communicate and interact with other team members, customers, and management.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus or 18 months of related experience in general industry.
Working Conditions

The Test Technician will work in a factory environment, which may be very loud. The employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors. The employee must be able to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision.
