Department Overview: The Patient Financial Services department is dedicated to enhancing the financial experience of patients across our multi-hospital and medical group organization. Position Summary: The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with various departmental tasks. This role does not involve direct management of other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming customer service inquiries via phone and in-person.
  • Effectively communicate with a diverse range of customers, utilizing strong interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Document interactions clearly and concisely in the patient health information system.
  • Review and manage reports and queues as needed.
  • Conduct financial assessments with patients or responsible parties to evaluate payment capabilities and establish payment plans.
  • Maintain established productivity and quality standards.
  • Support the organization's vision, mission, and values in all activities.
  • Embrace and promote continuous improvement principles, acting as a change advocate.
  • Ensure a safe environment for all caregivers, patients, and visitors.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Deliver customer service and patient care that fosters goodwill and is timely, efficient, and accurate.
  • May perform additional duties of similar complexity as required.

Education Requirements:

Required: High School diploma or GED

Preferred: Additional coursework in medical terminology and office practices is advantageous.

Experience Requirements:

Required: Minimum of one year of experience in data processing, word processing, accounting, or healthcare clerical roles.

Personal Protective Equipment: Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary for safe job performance.

Additional Information:

Schedule: 40 hours per week
