About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and animal-loving individual to join our team as a Cashier at Petco. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating a cash register, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide optimal guest experience services, including answering questions and making recommendations on pet care products.
  • Assist guests in the proper selection of merchandise, ensuring they find the right products for their pets.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals, including pets and wildlife.
  • Perform cashiering duties, including operating a cash register and handling customer transactions.
  • Perform related duties in support of the store attaining its assigned sales goal, including stocking and facing merchandise.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly stocked and priced, and that the store is well-organized and visually appealing.
  • Adhere to established operational guidelines and store policies and procedures, including safety protocols and animal care standards.
  • Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to Guest Experience Leader and/or Leader on Duty as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and pull 2000 pounds utilizing material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe store environment.
