About the Role

Hamilton Families is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Development Officer to lead our fundraising efforts and contribute to our mission to end family homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure $7M+ in annual revenue, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and Board to ensure effective fundraising efforts, including strategic planning and donor engagement activities.
  • Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts for major and minor gifts, involving individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
  • Oversee the execution of all fundraising events and campaigns, including annual appeals, special campaigns, planned giving efforts, and matching gift programs.
  • Manage external communication efforts to raise awareness of Hamilton Families and attract donor interest.
  • Supervise the preparation of grant applications, corporate sponsorship solicitations, and donor reports, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Oversee and maintain a comprehensive donor database, ensuring accurate tracking, timely acknowledgments, and regular reporting of progress toward fundraising goals.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of development, communications, and nonprofit management experience.
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • A background in working with nonprofit organizations, social services organizations, or community-based programs.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel locally to meet with donors and work some night and evening hours for donor and fundraising events.
