Admission Counselor

Bard College at Simon's Rock is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Admission Counselor to join our team. As an Admission Counselor, you will play a key role in meeting enrollment goals for both Bard Academy and Bard College at Simon's Rock.

• Conduct on-campus and online recruitment activities, including interviews, group information sessions, and question-and-answer sessions with prospective students and families.
• Read and evaluate admission applications, participate in the admissions committee discussion of applicants, and take primary responsibility in counseling prospective students, parents, counselors, and educational consultants.
• Develop a strategy using quantitative and qualitative data to determine travel locations and schedules that align with the goals of the admission office and meet institutional priorities.
• Travel four to six weeks during the fall to meet prospective students, counselors, and educational consultants, and visit middle and secondary schools, community-based organizations, and educational consultants to promote college access and recruit students.
• Manage programs and projects within the office as assigned, including contributing to and shepherding various programs and projects.

• A bachelor's degree and driver's license are required.
• Admission experience in a liberal arts college or independent secondary school environment is preferred.
• The successful candidate must be energetic, creative, organized, flexible, and open-minded, with outstanding strategic thinking, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
