As part of our expanding Electric Grid Infrastructure Services division, Sargent & Lundy is seeking a skilled Project Manager. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a team of engineers and designers dedicated to the design, modification, and assessment of high voltage substations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of various transmission and distribution initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination with internal and external departments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project execution, including contract oversight, planning, and resource allocation.
- Assume full responsibility for project performance, focusing on safety, timelines, budgets, reporting, and client satisfaction.
- Guide and mentor the project team, fostering accountability and professional growth.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with client stakeholders and functional leads.
- Lead efforts to guarantee that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within financial constraints.
- Support the monitoring of key performance indicators related to schedules, budgets, and other critical metrics.
- Identify and mitigate construction risks effectively.
- Recognize, track, and manage changes throughout the project.
- Engage in clear communication with stakeholders and supervisors.
- Prepare comprehensive reports that convey project information clearly and meet client specifications.
- Analyze challenges and propose solutions to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications
Note: This position does not offer sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program or a management/business degree.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in Project Management within Utility Transmission projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams effectively.
- At least 10 years of experience in the electric utility sector (engineering, construction, planning, etc.).
- Experience acting as a liaison between firms and clients in either a support or leadership capacity.
- Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Valued but Not Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in engineering design is advantageous.
- PMP Certification is a plus.
- Experience in construction and start-up processes is beneficial.
