Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead the design and technical aspects of facility and utilities elements for a major strategic capital project at our new greenfield site in North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the design and lead technical aspects for facility and utilities elements of the project.
  • Provide leadership and review of all utility systems and facility design provided by the A&E firm.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal Amgen domain specialists and field engineering leads, as well as external consultant subject area SMEs and contractors.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities and ensure compliance in a highly regulated environment.
  • Lead and partner in a sophisticated, matrixed organization to deliver a digitally enabled and sustainable facility aligned with our digital manufacturing strategy and corporate sustainability goals.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of Engineering/Engineering Technology experience, or equivalent.
  • Background in sustainability and experience in implementation of automated solutions such as AGVs for inventory management and material movement.
  • Large capital projects delivery with responsibility for the utility and facility design as part of the design team.
  • Ability to optimally lead and partner in a sophisticated, matrixed organization.
