Database Administration Role

Mindlance is seeking a skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement databases on Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Support RDBMS database administration on Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Configure and instantiate databases on AWS RDS or EC2s.
  • Perform database upgrades and migrations to maintain compliance with organization, industry, and security standards.
  • Create and manage Windows, Linux, or Unix scripts to perform database administration and automation.
  • Implement various database storage options, including file or block storage.
  • Create and manage users connecting to databases.
  • Set up and manage database audits and compliance reporting.
  • Install Oracle Grid for managing standalone instances.
  • Install, configure, and support Oracle Data Guard for replication.
  • Implement DB security through data encryption solutions and strengthen data security efforts.
  • Set up database backups and recovery processes for disaster recovery situations.
  • Monitor database health and take preventive or corrective actions.
  • Generate and review AWR reports to identify and resolve performance issues with databases.
  • Perform SQL tuning to improve application performance.
  • Assist various businesses with unifying and collaborating data.
  • Understand and translate business requirements into data warehouse solutions.
  • Create data models and designs to meet specific business needs that require sourcing data from multiple source systems.
  • Leverage ETL tools, such as Informatica, to solve business use cases.
  • Configure DB alerts and notifications with performance thresholds.
  • Be available for 24x7 production support on a schedule basis.
  • Build and schedule periodic DB reports and statistics for senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of database administration and hands-on database architecture experience.
  • 3+ years of Oracle database administration and data warehouse experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the importance of achieving goals and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience working with Oracle or other DBA support and vendors.
  • Database admin certifications.
