We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team at Alief ISD. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing healthcare services to students, managing health records, and collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure the well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with disabilities, including those who are medically fragile.
- Administer medication to students according to district policies and procedures.
- Conduct health assessments, including screenings for health factors that impact student education.
- Provide first aid and CPR as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure the well-being of students.
- Manage health records and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on current laws, trends, and best practices related to school health services.
- Associate's degree from an accredited professional nursing education program.
- Valid registered nurse license from the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED).
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience in community health, ambulatory care, school health, or other related fields.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, teachers, and parents. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $62,000 - $63,000 per year, depending on experience. Alief ISD offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
