We invite you to consider the following opportunity to provide compassionate and individualized care to our patients.
In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Chief Nurse Executive/Nurse Administrator/Assistant Chief Nurse Executive, where you will observe, assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care outcomes. Your expertise will be crucial in coordinating care and managing service areas during your assigned shifts.
You will also be responsible for supervising and mentoring nursing staff, ensuring continuity of care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Flexibility in your work schedule is essential, as is the ability to exercise independent judgment in patient care.
Please note that duties may involve exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
All shifts available.
Unit selection will be discussed during the interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular attendance and be prepared to work specific or rotating shifts, including extended hours as necessary.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health and mental status upon admission and throughout their stay, documenting all findings accurately.
- Administer CPR and emergency techniques in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide leadership and coordination of patient care activities, addressing performance issues promptly and maintaining accurate records.
- Facilitate admissions and transfers by collaborating with admissions staff and ensuring all documentation is complete.
- Implement medical orders and nursing interventions according to established standards and protocols.
- Participate in investigations related to client safety and uphold patient rights at all times.
- Attend mandatory training sessions to enhance your skills and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Engage in ongoing education and training programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of our patient population.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to treatment and intervention strategies to safeguard the well-being of patients and staff.
- Maintain open communication with nursing leadership to stay informed and effectively disseminate information to your team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include participation in disaster response initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with recognized nursing standards and departmental policies.
- Understanding of the Nurse Practice Act and relevant regulations.
- Strong supervisory and management capabilities.
- Proficiency in emergency care and crisis management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking and sound judgment are essential for this role.
