Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the quality control initiatives in partnership with craft personnel, external inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the quality inspection schedule in coordination with project timelines.
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures, including inspection guidelines and testing protocols.
- Conduct inspections upon receipt of materials to verify compliance with project specifications.
- Perform detailed inspections and tests to assess the quality of work, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Utilize strong organizational skills to mitigate challenges that may hinder project progress, employing effective problem-solving techniques.
- Engage positively with clients, subcontractors, and team members to foster effective communication.
- Interface with client inspectors to address all quality-related inquiries.
- Supervise subcontractor activities to ensure alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Verify completed systems to confirm proper installation according to design specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of work performance and inspections to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Undertake other tasks as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Be prepared to travel as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Knowledge:
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in quality assurance within the construction sector is required.
Familiarity with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes and the National Board Inspection Code is essential.
Experience:
At least five years of experience in quality assurance roles within the construction industry, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of quality assurance protocols, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and related documentation.
A decade of experience in the construction field is preferred, with specific expertise in boiler and pressure vessel operations.
Tools and Equipment:
Proficiency with NDT equipment commonly utilized in construction projects, including but not limited to dye penetrant and magnetic particle test kits, hydro testing apparatus, and x-ray technology.
Competence in software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam, with a willingness to learn additional software as required.
Certifications:
A valid state-issued driver's license is mandatory.
Certification as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector is required.
