Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Education Specialist to join our team at Soliant Education. This onsite position involves working with a small group of elementary students with severe special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Individualized Instruction: Deliver tailored instruction and support to students with severe special needs in grades 4-6.
  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Professionals: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress using the SPED Information System (SIRAS).
  • Create a Supportive Environment: Establish a supportive and engaging classroom environment to foster student learning and growth.
  • Participate in IEP Meetings: Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of effective educational strategies.
Requirements
  • Experience in Special Education: Previous experience in Special Education, with a focus on severe needs.
  • Credential Requirements: Must hold a Moderate/Severe (Mod/Severe) or Extensive Support Needs (ESN) credential.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, families, and staff.
  • Teaching Strategies: Ability to create and implement effective teaching strategies for students with severe disabilities.
