Job Overview

Position Summary: Responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to facilitate the loading and unloading of materials and deliveries, ensuring efficient movement to and from storage areas, machinery, and loading docks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire production schedules or shipping orders to transport materials or equipment to designated locations within the facility.
  • Load and unload goods from various vehicles, including trucks.
  • Relocate goods stored on pallets or in crates throughout the storage facility.
  • Organize and stack goods in appropriate storage bays, adhering to inventory control guidelines.
  • Ensure loads are secured properly.
  • Manage the stacking of empty pallets.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment, including recharging batteries and lubricating machinery.
  • Remove attachments and waste materials from machines as needed.
  • Inspect products to confirm compliance with quality standards.
  • Feed materials into machine hoppers as required.

  • Strong attention to detail to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ability to follow equipment operation instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Capability to execute tasks in a precise, timely, and safe manner.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  • A clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator's license may be necessary.
  • 2-3 years of experience operating forklifts is required.
  • Reliability and conscientiousness in work performance.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED is required.


Language Skills:

Proficiency in speaking, reading, and understanding English is necessary. Effective communication with management and colleagues is essential, along with the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Capability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.


Reasoning Skills:

Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Capacity to address problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills are required.


Work Environment:

The characteristics of the work environment are representative of those encountered while performing essential job functions. Employees must adhere to safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment when working near moving mechanical parts. The role may involve exposure to varying temperatures and moderate noise levels, with occasional work in high noise areas.


Physical Demands:

The physical requirements of this position include:

  • Regularly operating a powered industrial truck.
  • Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and adjusting body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and remain standing for extended periods.
  • Maintaining good balance and coordination.
  • Assessing weights and judging distances and heights accurately.
