Housekeeping Assistant

Housekeeper Position Summary

Clean and sanitize common areas, homes, apartments, suites, and healthcare units on the campus. Work under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor to accomplish duties according to a regular work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Represent the campus in a positive manner while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for residents and employees alike.
  2. Uphold the campus's Mission Statement and maintain HIPAA standards.
  3. Remove trash located in the collection areas of the campus and clean inhabited and vacant units to a 'like new' condition.
  4. Clean building areas to a 'like new' condition and use cleaning chemicals and supplies properly.

Additional Duties

  1. Travel occasionally for training sessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.
  2. Responsible for knowledge of fire and safety procedures including those involving blood-borne pathogens.
  3. Remain in proper uniform at all times and maintain a high standard of appearance.
  4. Complete all work/cleaning orders in a timely manner and exercise waste control.
  5. Interact well with marketing tours and prospective residents and maintain excellent resident and employee relations.

Requirements

  • Technical certification from a janitorial program desired.
  • Janitorial or maintenance experience required, with two years' experience in a similar housekeeping position desired.
  • Ability to work with minimal and close supervision, conduct all business with a professional manner, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work outdoors and indoors during the work day, climb up to two flights of stairs, lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head, and move objects of 40 pounds or more.
