Junior Civil Engineer Position

Position Overview:

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a leading professional services consulting firm, is seeking a junior civil engineer to contribute to our aviation division.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating detailed plans and specifications for various airport design initiatives.
  • Conducting analyses and preparing engineering reports along with construction cost assessments.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD and Civil3D for drafting tasks to produce plan sheets.
  • Assisting in construction administration duties, which may involve fieldwork at project sites during weekends and evenings as necessary.
  • Interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical assessments, and survey data to inform project designs.

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited institution, or the ability to obtain such a degree by the start date.
  • Experience with any of the following:
    • AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software applications.
    • Coursework in civil or transportation design.
    • Hands-on construction field experience, including site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, paving, materials testing, and/or surveying.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project software.
