We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist RN to join our quality team at Johnston-Willis Hospital, part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing patient safety activities with the objective of enhancing and promoting patient safety and quality care. The successful candidate will have 4 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting and a strong knowledge of regulatory compliance as it relates to patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and analyze close calls and adverse patient events, conducting educational programs, leading clinical initiatives, and complying with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate in the annual review/revision of the organization's Patient Safety Program Plan, with responsibility for operationalizing the program.
  • Act as a resource, internal consultant, and educator for patient safety issues, participating in RCA (Root Cause Analysis), FMEA (Failure Mode and Event Analysis), lead investigations for serious adverse events, and making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN (MSN preferred).
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred.
  • 4 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of CMS, TJC, ISMP, NPSF, Leapfrog, IHI and other patient care related initiatives to improve outcomes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance as it relates to patient safety.

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
