Job Summary

Crawford Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Registration Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our admitting department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process for patients, families, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service and greet all visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Accurately register patients in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with hospital regulatory requirements.
  • Assist patients with directions, provide wheelchair transportation, and announce pages in a clear and well-modulated voice.
  • Maintain provider and other related hospital personnel contact information, which is used and posted for the ER and Night call lists.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of legally required documents, such as consent forms and MSP questionnaires.
  • Provide information to patients/representatives about billing, complaint process, patient rights, visiting hours, and hospital-specific literature.
  • Collect and process patient deposits and co-payments as required.
  • Keep forms and supplies stocked as needed.
  • Comply with all established safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an office/clerical setting preferred.
  • Strong data entry and typing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
