Healthier Mississippi People (HMP) is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist, Registered to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a full range of laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct clinical laboratory tests and analysis in the areas of hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis.
- Monitor programs to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results.
- Analyze samples of biological material for chemical content or reaction.
- Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids to determine the presence of normal and abnormal components.
- Cultivate, isolate, assist in identifying, and conduct tests on microbial organisms.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology/clinical lab sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registration in one of the following: American Association of Bioanalyst, MT(AAB); American Medical Technologist, MT(AMT); American Society for Clinical Pathology, MT(ASCP); National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel CLS(NCA); or equivalent categorical registration.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment. The position requires constant attention to safety considerations and the ability to work with/around potentially biological and chemical hazardous conditions.
