We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result reporting.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result reporting.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Assure that the laboratory's quality control program is properly followed.
- Calculate, enter, and/or verify results of laboratory procedures.
- Utilize the Laboratory Information System.
- Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values obtained.
- Process patient specimens, including collection, handling, and distribution.
- Participate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of new or updated testing procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrate competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities.
- Adapt assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient.
- Demonstrate adherence to the CORE values of Christus Health.
- Complete all required compliance and regulatory tasks and follow all applicable policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience.
- One year of approved clinical laboratory experience, which must include a clinical rotation through the following sections of the laboratory: Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
- Must possess Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
- Louisiana requires State Licensure.
