Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and supervising individual patient care according to professional standards and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Apply therapeutic principles and practices during patient evaluations and treatments.
  • Formulate realistic and appropriate plans of care and set short and long-term goals.
  • Involve patients and families in program and treatment decisions and plans.
  • Terminate treatment appropriately with discharge plans.
  • Show sensitivity to cultural backgrounds.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation and charging in accordance with department policy.
  • Regularly assess needs for and provide patients and families with educational materials and resources, including home exercise plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Function as a preceptor to new staff and supervise clinical students.
  • Take responsibility for monitoring own schedule and following up with appropriate staff as needed.
  • Comply with organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain productivity at departmental standards.
  • Meet performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, Staff and Self Development, and abide by the YNHH Standards of Professional Behavior.
Qualifications
  • M.A., M.S., or M.Ed. in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Outpatient experience preferred.
  • Connecticut Speech-Language Pathology license or Speech-Language Pathology of CFY.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) qualification in Speech-Language Pathology by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
