Position Overview:

The Audit Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the execution of assigned audits, preparing audit reports, and reviewing the work of supervised employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team focused on specific audits, typically taking the lead role and assigning tasks to team members as Auditor In Charge, while also reviewing completed work papers and drafting audit reports.
  • Manages time and staffing budgets for upcoming audits.
  • Plans audits and maintains communication with management regarding audit scope, status, and findings.
  • Operates under the guidance of the Audit Manager.
  • May conduct testing procedures for critical audit areas.
  • Provides on-the-job training to staff members.
  • Supervises follow-up tasks related to findings with management and audit staff.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in at least one area of discipline.
  • Works independently while receiving support and coaching from the audit manager.
  • May serve as Auditor in Charge on an audit.
  • May participate in or lead special projects as assigned.
  • Offers feedback on staff performance on a project basis.
  • Assists in providing input for staff evaluations.
  • Updates and enhances existing audit procedures and programs.
  • Contributes value through consultative interactions with business line management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant audit experience required.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of audit principles and practices.
  • Coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Capability to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Strong decision-making skills and follow-through.
  • Proficient in PC skills (MS Office Suite).
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • Experience working in teams.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with peers and management.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking industry laws and regulations.
  • Certification is highly preferred or willingness to pursue certification.
  • Willingness to travel 25% or more.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CISA certification.
  • CAMS or CFE certification.
  • Experience in IT Audit, particularly in IT Infrastructure and Operating Systems.
  • Experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
