ASC Respiratory Therapist - Murfreesboro, TN - 13 Weeks Contract

Sigma Healthcare is seeking a skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our team at a client facility in Murfreesboro, TN.

Shift Details

19:00 - 07:30

Responsibilities
  • Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy, including arterial blood gases, vital signs, and lung function changes, and consult with physicians if there are adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage patient care by assisting with medical procedures.
  • Set up and operate devices, including therapeutic gas administration apparatus, mechanical ventilators, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
  • Follow specified parameters of treatment.
  • Provide emergency care, such as external cardiac massage, artificial respiration, or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain charts containing patient identification and therapy information.
  • Measure arterial blood gases, read prescriptions, lung capacity, and review other information to assess patient condition.
  • Relay blood analysis results to a physician.
  • Make emergency visits to resolve equipment problems when necessary.
  • Order equipment repairs when necessary.
  • Explain health care treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation.
  • Check pulmonary function in patients.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program or technical college course for respiratory therapy.
  • Registration or certification by the national board for respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current RCP license in the state of practice.
  • Current RN or LPN license in the state of practice.
  • Respiratory care, emergency care, and intensive care experience.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver license and auto insurance.
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or client.
  • Strong knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Experience with respiratory equipment.
