Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate the activities of warehouse associates, including tracking attendance, coaching, and leading employees to achieve employee growth and development, monitor performance, and manage overtime and other compensation changes.
- Direct warehouse activities to ensure efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing inventory.
- Maintain process management, productivity measures, and quality controls.
- Review, track, and analyze critical success measures and compare the results with the targets on a regular basis. Develop and plan for improvement in areas such as order filling errors, late deliveries, and overall service levels. Evaluate associates' performance in achieving standards.
- Respond to production problems by implementing solutions.
- Enforce compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety roles, and government regulations.
- Study current and future needs of the company as it relates to the management of receiving, stocking, inventory, returns, shipping, and order filling; develop and recommend improvements to current warehouse practices to promote efficiency, accuracy, faster service, and lower costs.
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of the department budget and manage to the budget.
- Ensure cleanliness of facility.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Requires 5+ years directly related and progressively responsible experience, including 2+ years at a supervisory level.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with distribution center associates; foster teamwork, coach, and develop employees.
- Must be willing to work extended hours, take part in weekend on-call rotation, as needed, to meet productivity goals and provide emergency service to customers.
- Must be willing to participate in physical inventory, as scheduled.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Good negotiating skills.
- Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and systems, engineered standards, and regulatory compliance matters.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and work in a production-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Knowledge of computers to operate effectively in Microsoft Office products.
