This pivotal role is responsible for the origination, management, and oversight of a diverse portfolio of commercial loans, with the primary goal of enhancing and preserving asset quality. The incumbent will engage with clients to facilitate commercial and agricultural loan applications.
The position involves a thorough evaluation of the client's financial standing by acquiring credit reports and essential documentation to determine their repayment capacity. The individual will provide underwriting recommendations to senior management and ensure the completion of all necessary loan documentation to finalize transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the development of lending and deposit business opportunities for the Bank, actively reaching out to potential clients to broaden the Bank's customer base.
- Continuously monitor the existing loan portfolio to uphold a high standard of asset quality, maintaining current client files that include balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow forecasts, and all relevant loan documentation.
- Ensure the collection of standard Bank fees associated with all loans.
- Assist in the recovery of overdue loans.
- Independently manage intermediate to moderately complex business and commercial loan credit underwriting and structures.
- Maintain the asset quality of the loan portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with delinquency rates as established by supervisory guidelines and Bank policy.
- Collect standard fee income on portfolio loans and fees on sold loans.
- Maintain acceptable charge-off and delinquency rates as per supervisory and Bank policy standards.
- Ensure that lending operations adhere to established Bank policies and legal compliance.
- Possess five to seven years of experience in credit underwriting, lending, business development, and sales.
Qualifications:
- A college degree in finance, accounting, banking, or equivalent experience in the banking sector.
- Completion of the first level of Advanced Commercial Lending School, Graduate Banking School, or Certified Community Lender Certification.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence others, requiring a high degree of diplomacy and trust.
- Proficient in analyzing business financial statements and evaluating business viability.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel) and the capability to learn and effectively utilize related lending software.
- Able to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
