Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Social Worker to join our Emergency Services team at Lifespan. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive clinical services to children, adolescents, and families in crisis.

Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency triage, evaluation, and brief treatment to patients through our Lifespan Pediatric Behavioral Health Emergency Services (LPBHES) Department.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and provide urgent and emergency triage across Lifespan emergency service sites, including Bradley Access, Hasbro emergency department, and Gateway community sites.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Lifespan PBHES Team to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Manage crisis intervention with patients and families awaiting inpatient admissions or assessed as a candidate for intensive outpatient care.
  • Complete all required documentation in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families/guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment, interventions, and recommendations.
  • Clinical case management to coordinate and collaborate in care with both the multidisciplinary team and community supports.
  • Participate in service-related meetings, including team meetings, rounds, clinical conferences, community meetings, staff meetings, and in-service.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in any human services field required, such as social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or psychology from an accredited graduate school.
  • Current independent license from the State of Rhode Island required (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
  • Significant experience and/or training work with children, adolescents, and families.
