Role Overview

Your Journey

As a Systems Engineer, you will deliver technical insights and support throughout your client's zero trust transformation. Your contributions will be vital in crafting technical solutions that secure essential business objectives. You will advocate for our leadership in on-premises, cloud, and security services, establishing Palo Alto Networks as the preferred cybersecurity partner for your clients.

Your Contributions

Surpassing sales targets by developing and executing strategic technical account plans that focus on cross-platform solutions. Conducting thorough discovery sessions to comprehend and articulate the critical technical, operational, and commercial needs of your prospects and clients. Designing and presenting compelling technical and business-oriented solutions that promote adoption and growth beyond the initial sale. Showcasing excellent communication skills and the ability to persuade through effective presentations, customer-specific demonstrations, technical engagements, and workshops. Coordinating resources to ensure a unified approach that reflects a cohesive strategy. Advocating for comprehensive solutions that incorporate Palo Alto Networks and/or partner professional services to help clients realize business value more quickly. Understanding the competitive landscape and effectively differentiating our leadership position. Continuously enhancing your technical and professional skills to increase your contributions to client success while actively engaging in the Systems Engineering community and industry events.

Qualifications

Your Background

Over 4 years of experience as a successful pre-sales Systems Engineer, systems integrator, or similar role. Strong understanding of data networking. Proven track record in delivering cybersecurity solutions that address technical challenges and drive new business initiatives. Ability to influence and gain support from key stakeholders, whether in a client-facing or internal capacity; prior experience in a pre-sales environment is preferred. Expertise in creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or validation engagements. Experience with Cortex/SaaS/cloud/managed/on-prem offerings is advantageous. Collaborating with Customer Support teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions. Experience in complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders and multi-product solutions is preferred. Familiarity with IBM products is a plus.

The compensation for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $192,000/yr to $264,000/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found.
