About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Circulatory Support Nurse Coordinator to join our team at CHI St Vincent Infirmary. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a comprehensive Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) program that delivers high-quality care to patients with advanced heart failure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement written care protocols based on best practice updates to improve patient outcomes and quality care.
  • Lead and/or coordinate the development, implementation, and organization of CHI-St. Vincent MCS Team Algorithms/Protocols/Clinical Pathway/Order Sets in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing review and monitoring of MCS care-related documentation to ensure continued adherence to standardized MCS orders, nursing pathway, and protocols, and provide education and guidance to prevent future issues.
  • Provide mechanical circulatory support device management and support during all sedation procedures.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
  • Assist in discharge planning and the discharge of Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) patients.
  • Screen internal and external referrals for potential use of Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS).
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • RN:AR licensure required.
  • BLS-CPR certification within 30 days.
