Respiratory Therapist PEDS NICU

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Medical City Dallas. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering respiratory care services to critically ill pediatric patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessments, including respiratory function, oxygen saturation, and ventilator settings.
- Administer respiratory therapies, such as oxygen delivery, aerosol medication, and chest physiotherapy, as prescribed by the physician.
- Assist with the placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify the physician of any changes or concerns.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP), or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT), or Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT) certification.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist, or State Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician licensure.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
