The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for coordinating, directing, and managing the execution of all administrative and clinical activities in the pharmacy. This includes ensuring consistent and efficient delivery of services, controlling costs, minimizing waste, and optimizing customer relationships while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies.
The Pharmacy Manager will also be responsible for staffing, monitoring staff activities, performance, and achievement of individual and departmental goals. This includes planning, coordinating, directing, and evaluating all clinical activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including supervision of refilling machines, medical prescriptions database entries, and dispatch of medicines.
The Pharmacy Manager will also be responsible for implementing process and procedures to comply with regulations for medicine handling, including reception and storage of medicines, inventory and expenses controls. Additionally, the Pharmacy Manager will manage day-to-day activities of the pharmacy technicians and monitor their performance to meet departmental goals.
The Pharmacy Manager will also be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist, assessing and maintaining pharmacy inventory, and executing necessary orders to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs. The Pharmacy Manager will also lead processes for hiring of pharmacy staff, onboarding, and performance management, including leadership of competency evaluations process and documentation.
The Pharmacy Manager will also be responsible for managing internal workflows of acute pharmacy, including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Manager will also participate in meetings and provide insight to hospital committees to ensure coordination among cross-functional groups.
The Pharmacy Manager will also be responsible for assisting in execution of plans for lowering costs, increasing efficiency, and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the acute pharmacy business. The Pharmacy Manager will also assume responsibility for Quality Assurance monitoring and completing End of the Month reports as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
