We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Equinox Resort. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Executive Chef in the planning and preparation of menus, specials, and events
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, presentation, and service
- Lead and motivate a team of cooks, stewards, and other kitchen staff to ensure excellent service and high-quality food
- Conduct daily walk-throughs of the kitchen to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and implement new menu ideas and specials
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stock control
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the best possible products and services
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a kitchen management position
- Proven track record of leadership and team management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of food allergens and handling procedures
