Department Overview:

CBP is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to fostering the growth of small businesses in Northern Virginia and surrounding regions. As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we provide crucial access to capital for underserved micro and small business owners. Our organization is also recognized as a U.S. Small Business Administration Intermediary Microlender, enhancing our ability to support local entrepreneurs.

Key Responsibilities:

The Lending Administrative Specialist will:
  1. Assist in the monthly and bi-monthly loan billing processes.
  2. Support the management of delinquent loan portfolios.
  3. Process delinquency notifications and communicate effectively with borrowers.
  4. Guide loan prospects and new applicants through the pre-application and application stages.
  5. Facilitate loan origination in line with established policies and procedures.
  6. Prepare approved loan funding packages and liaise with qualified borrowers.
  7. Maintain funding databases and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  8. Assist with reporting requirements as outlined in contracts and grants.
  9. Perform data entry and maintain effective communication.
  10. Complete additional duties as assigned by BFC leadership.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of two years of experience in loan underwriting or support.
  • Two years of administrative office support experience.
  • Knowledge of funding principles and resources.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with lending software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will also have:
  • Knowledge of small business operations.
  • Experience with community-based programs.
  • Background in non-profit lending.
  • Public speaking skills.
