We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Actalent. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory operations and ensuring the highest quality results.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Assurance: Understand and adhere to quality system documents, including quality manuals, SOPs, methods, and local policies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all laboratory activities meet or exceed ISO/IEC 17025, government regulatory, and company requirements.
- Lab Operations: Assist in the daily assaying of samples, perform testing from a daily work list, and set up batches of samples to weigh and weigh samples.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including test data and results, and enter data into eLIMS in a timely and accurate manner.
- Lab Maintenance: Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment, clean work areas and glassware, and dispose of hazardous wastes according to established procedures.
- Method Development: Identify method/matrix/analytical difficulties and report these together with proposed solutions to the supervisor.
- Confidentiality: Ensure that proprietary methodologies are not disclosed to non-employees except as approved in writing by the Laboratory Manager or appointed designate.
- Education: AAS or BA degree in Microbiology, food sciences, chemistry, Biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
- Skills: Comfortable in a fast-paced lab environment, able to work independently, strong ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
