LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (76011)

Working hours: M-F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Position Overview: The Practical Nursing Specialist provides essential nursing care to patients and their families through direct interaction and/or telephonic communication, adhering to established protocols and best practices. This role involves collaboration with other healthcare professionals to guarantee comprehensive care delivery, optimal coordination of efforts, and active patient involvement in their care planning. The specialist assists physicians or other healthcare providers with clinical tasks and engages in patient education.

Additional Description: These roles are entirely remote within the APCRG (Adult Primary Care Refill Group)

Typical Physical Demands: This position requires a full range of physical motion, including the ability to move and lift patients, manual dexterity, and coordination. It necessitates prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasionally, it may involve exerting up to 100 pounds of force, such as aiding patients in getting up from examination tables, maneuvering patients in wheelchairs, or assisting with transfers in and out of wheelchairs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges are required. There may be occasional lifting and transporting of office supplies.

Typical Working Conditions: The role may involve frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, hazardous substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions typical of a medical office environment. Close collaboration with other staff members is expected. Continuous use of a computer keyboard throughout the workday is required. The use of an autoclave for sterilizing instruments may be necessary. The position may also involve working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of clinical experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting, or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Demonstrated record of stable employment and/or positive references.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program with a minimum of one year of recent experience as a medical assistant.
  • Current certification as a medical assistant or eligibility for certification.
  • Must achieve certification through the CMM M.A exam course if not certified at the time of employment.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Experience in Geriatrics or Internal Medicine
