Pride Health is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Laboratory Technician. This role involves a variety of essential laboratory tasks that contribute to the efficient operation of our healthcare services.
Work Schedule: Various shifts available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance on laboratory instruments.
- Perform laboratory procedures including centrifugation of samples, generating additional labels, and maintaining accurate records of specimen data.
- Prepare reagents and media as required.
- Organize specimens for testing, which includes creating worklists, aliquoting samples, and preparing slides.
- Execute quality assurance and quality control tasks as assigned.
- Address pending tasks and locate missing samples.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of work areas through decontamination processes.
- Conduct weekly radioactive wipe tests and maintain departmental records.
- Manage gas cylinder changes and adhere to all safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Utilize laboratory computer systems and personal computers for data management.
- Dispose of biohazardous materials appropriately.
- Complete required training and competency assessments.
This is a general overview of the position and may not encompass all duties and responsibilities.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Training as a medical assistant is advantageous, with a preference for candidates who have completed courses in mathematics and science.
Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

- Capacity to retain and apply learned information.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with colleagues and clients.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred data entry skills.
- A background in medical terminology relevant to clinical laboratories is beneficial.
- Experience in a production environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with mainframe computer systems is a plus.
