Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as an Overdose Prevention Specialist at Project Weber RENEW. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing harm reduction services and support to individuals who use substances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enroll new clients into our Overdose Prevention Program, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Orient new clients to our services, including routine procedures, available supplies, and support options.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering a sense of trust and respect.
  • De-escalate conflicts and provide emotional support to clients in need.
  • Monitor client flow and maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to established staff-to-client ratios.
  • Collect and document data on services provided, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a well-stocked and organized workspace.
  • Provide education on safer substance use techniques and offer support in accessing harm reduction resources.
  • Respond to emergencies, including overdoses, and exercise sound judgment in assessing situations.
  • Model calm and responsible decision-making, maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all.
  • Supervise the disposal and logging of used equipment, adhering to established protocols.
  • Perform thorough opening and closing duties to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Proactively complete tasks and work collaboratively with the team to achieve shared goals.
  • Participate in required trainings and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of harm reduction principles and practices.
  • Experience working with marginalized populations, including individuals who use substances.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide non-judgmental support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Spanish language skills are highly preferred.
