Position Overview
The Safety and Compliance Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the organization. This position involves conducting thorough safety evaluations, providing training, and inspecting operational environments to uphold the highest standards of occupational and environmental safety.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our team, you will:
- Oversee and implement the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management System across designated facilities, performing regular assessments to identify safety risks and recommending corrective actions to management.
- Advise and ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT, OSHA, EPA, DHS, and FDA, while assisting in the development of safety policies and procedures.
- Provide process safety guidance to filling plant locations, including conducting audits, documenting findings, and offering recommendations to meet regulatory and company standards.
- Consult on the safe design and operational use of equipment and facilities, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational policies.
- Investigate incidents involving vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, and significant safety events to identify root causes and implement preventive measures. Prepare and submit necessary reports in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Design and deliver training programs focused on safety and operational best practices to enhance employee knowledge and ensure compliance with regulations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in industrial or occupational safety or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in safety, compliance, or operations roles is essential, with at least three (3) years in process safety, demonstrating a solid understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DOT, OSHA, EPA, DHS, and FDA regulations is necessary.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a detail-oriented environment.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
