About the Role:

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a skilled Roadway Designer to join our Transportation Engineering Group in Bridgeport. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the design of roadway improvements and new construction projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design roadway improvements and new construction projects, including layout, calculations, construction plan production, bid quantities, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct geometric studies, report writing, preliminary and final engineering, drainage design, and other related efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of transportation design software, including Bentley Microstation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in transportation design, preferably with the West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOH).
  • E.I.T. certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of roadway drafting and design software, including Bentley Microstation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
