Position Overview:
The Clinical Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting routine laboratory tests and analyses. This role involves identifying issues, determining fundamental causes, and implementing corrective actions using established methods. The technician correlates results based on an understanding of the technical and instrumental factors that influence test outcomes. Additionally, the technician performs Quality Control (QC) procedures within specified limits.
Work Schedule: Per Diem / As needed
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
- Demonstrates accuracy and precision in the execution of assigned tasks and procedures
Educational Requirements:
An Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or an Associate's Degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences; or equivalent education and training in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
Professional Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in a Clinical Laboratory setting is preferred.
Certification and Licensure:
Certification from ASCP, NCA, HEW, or an equivalent body is required.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with all aspects of the operation of automated instruments used for routine laboratory analyses is essential.
