Job Description:

The Workplace Investment Quality Engineering CoE team is seeking a skilled utility player to support our Stock Plan Services (SPS) Client Validation Testing (CVT) events. This role involves coordinating responses to environment issues while supporting applications in a customer-facing test environment.

Required Expertise:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with mainframe application development and maintenance
  • At least 6 years of experience working in sophisticated production environments, including mainframe, on-prem, and cloud
  • Knowledge of ETL, Java, Python, or other distributed technologies, including experience with cloud platforms like AWS and/or Azure
  • Confirmed experience with mainframe development tools, including COBOL, CICS, db2, JCL, VSAM, MQ, etc., and writing COBOL/Native stored procedures
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub, Stash, Jenkins, Concourse, Ansible, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Artifactory, Sonar, Veracode, Kubernetes, and Udeploy
  • Experience with monitoring systems, such as CloudWatch, Datadog/Splunk, ELK stack
  • Ability to guide resources assigned to incidents and ensure accurate support to drive resolution as quickly as possible
  • Capability to partner with Operations and Customers on stability opportunities based on reporting/trending findings and operational readiness
  • Good technical background with the ability to discuss architecture, hardware, and software concepts and convey those concepts to team members and/or other contributors across the organization
  • Deeply self-motivated and independent, with the ability to coordinate activities within cross-regional and multi-functional teams
  • Able to mentor team members in areas of domain expertise and coordinate with partners

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day technical and functional mentorship to the team on mainframe and distributed applications
  • Help research and resolve issues impacting client testing related to mainframe and ETL/Informatica applications
  • Ensure mainframe job abends are resolved immediately and come up with solutions to proactively resolve frequent abends
  • Coordinate on new/upcoming code changes/functionality in both mainframe and modernized platforms
  • Collaborate with distributed teams in supporting any upcoming client testing events
  • Work closely with business partners to identify challenges and areas of improvement
