The Deputy State Executive Director serves as a key assistant to the State Executive Director, providing leadership and guidance to staff in administering, monitoring, and evaluating Farm Service Agency programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and coordination to county offices in developing and implementing operating and management plans and systems to enhance and achieve the purposes and objectives of Farm Service Agency programs.
  • Participates fully with the State Executive Director in the development, formulation, coordination, and implementation of overall Farm Service Agency operating and management programs, policies, and plans within the state.
  • Provides direction for the overall administrative and management activities for the state and its county offices in cooperation and participation with the FPAC Business Center and the Deputy Administrator for Field Operations.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience, and/or education.
  • Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-14 grade level, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through federal service.
  • Education: Note: There is no education substitution for the GS-14 level.
