Job Title: Care Team Associate - Surgical Specialty

OU Health is seeking a highly skilled Care Team Associate to join our Surgical Specialty team. As a Care Team Associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Job Summary:

The Care Team Associate will work under the general supervision of a registered nurse to perform routine tasks in patient care. This includes monitoring patient health status, implementing the plan of care, and carrying out physician and nursing orders as directed.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patient health status and implement the plan of care
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders as directed
  • Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight
  • Perform blood glucose monitoring and intravenous infusions as directed
  • Set up and discontinue telemetry monitors and collect specimens as directed
  • Apply sterile dressings, remove sutures, staples, and drains, and perform all sterile procedures as assigned
  • Perform stomal irrigation and apply colostomy pouches, and administer tube feedings to patients
  • Take emergency actions as required and report symptoms and significant changes in patient condition or behavior to the RN
  • Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer process, and transport patients to and from various treatment centers as needed
Requirements:
  • 6 months experience in a healthcare setting or completion of a health-related vocational education course or completion of the first semester of clinical education in an associate or bachelor's degree program from a healthcare discipline
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
