Job Title: Head Lifeguard

Join the City of Westminster's team as a Head Lifeguard, responsible for ensuring the safety of guests, lifeguards, and pool safety standards. This leadership role involves training and mentoring lifeguards, maintaining pool operations, and enforcing safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the lifeguard team and ensure pool safety standards are met
  • Train and mentor lifeguards on safety procedures and protocols
  • Maintain pool operations, including cleaning and maintenance
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations
  • Participate in emergency response situations
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • One year of experience as a lifeguard at a year-round public pool or two summer seasons at a seasonal pool
  • CPR/AED for Lifeguards certification, Basic First Aid certification, and Lifeguard Training certification
  • Ability to obtain StarGuard Lifeguard Instructor Certification within one year
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience as a lifeguard at a year-round public pool
  • StarGuard Lifeguard Certification
  • Certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a high-volume indoor pool setting with constant exposure to loud noise and wet/humid conditions. Sufficient physical strength, stamina, and conditioning are needed to rescue swimmers in danger of drowning who may resist rescue.
