Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing. You will work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff to ensure accurate and efficient specimen collection and processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary collection.
• Prepare blood samples for laboratory testing, including labeling, packaging, and transporting specimens.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
• Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff to ensure accurate and efficient specimen collection and processing.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation, including patient demographic information and specimen collection data.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality specimen collection and processing.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical training or phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required, if applicable.
