Job Overview:

The Air Freight Export Supervisor will oversee the Air Export division, ensuring efficient management of air freight operations. This role is crucial for facilitating the transportation of goods via air, adhering to both internal policies and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

The Air Freight Export Supervisor will be tasked with:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients, including preparing quotes, booking shipments, negotiating rates, and producing necessary documentation.
  • Coordinating with international agents to manage shipment details effectively.
  • Ensuring timely communication with customs brokers and destination handling agents.
  • Tracking shipments from origin to destination and resolving any issues that arise during transit.
  • Managing invoicing processes to ensure accurate billing and timely delivery of documents to clients.
  • Supporting team members with their shipment tasks as needed.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with carriers and agents to optimize service delivery.
  • Ensuring compliance with export regulations and internal operational standards.
  • Monitoring departmental profitability and efficiency.
  • Providing training and development for team members.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or international trade is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in air freight forwarding and export operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with Transportation Management systems.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Work Environment:

This position is typically based in a climate-controlled office with moderate noise levels. The role requires regular physical activity, including walking and sitting, as well as the ability to use hands for typing and handling documents.
