Operating Room Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Hopedale Medical Complex. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.
Responsibilities- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.
- Monitor and record patient vitals pre-operation, providing critical information to the surgical team.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, ensuring the highest level of safety for patients and staff.
- Document every aspect of the operation, including patient information, surgical tools, and anesthesia administered.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Assist surgeons during procedures as needed, providing support and expertise.
- Escort patients to the recovery room post-operation, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Clean and maintain the operating room, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Account for all surgical tools and equipment, ensuring accurate inventory and maintenance.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois.
- Strong critical thinking skills and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and ancillary staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to accept and implement new ideas and approaches.
- Knowledge of Physiology, Pathophysiology, Geriatrics, and Critical Care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, individualized patient care.
